Inclement Weather Policy

The safety of our athletes, staff, and families is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather, we will follow these guidelines to determine whether to stay open, modify schedules, or cancel activities:

Decision-Making Criteria

1.Local School District Closures

If local school districts (e.g., MMSD, MGSD, MCFSD) close due to weather, In The Grove Athletics will typically close as well.

2.Road Conditions and Travel Safety

Decisions will consider road condition reports from local authorities, such as snow, ice, flooding, or severe weather warnings.

3.Facility Conditions

Activities will be canceled if the facility is unsafe for use (e.g., power outages, hazardous entryways).

4.Weather Forecast Timing

Activities may be adjusted based on the timing of severe weather, such as storms expected to worsen during activity hours.

Multi-Week Reservations

Teams or groups with multi-week reservations are expected to adhere to their scheduled practice times, even in inclement weather, unless In The Grove Athletics officially closes the facility.

Refunds, reschedules, or credits will not be provided for missed practices unless the facility is officially closed.

Teams are encouraged to make individual attendance decisions based on their own comfort and safety, but the reservation will remain in place as scheduled.

Communication

A decision to close or modify operations will be made at least 2-3 hours before scheduled activities when possible.
